This original rarely seen historic Lithograph Folding Map of California, showing the various United States Army Posts from Sacramento to San Diego and LaPaz (Lower California). Contains the number of soldiers stationed at each Post as of June 19, 1847 and the distances between posts. This black print Map measures 13" x 16.5" unfolded. This Map was prepared by the Adjutant General's Office at Monterey, California originally as part of a report by the President regarding the Mexican War of 1848. Folds, minor foxing. An important early Mexican-American War era Map of the coast of California, accomplished shortly before its Statehood in 1850.
