GEORGE THORPE, LONDON, DATED 1838. A FINE ENGLISH DOUBLE FUSEE FOUR-GLASS MANTEL CLOCK OF SMALL PROPORTIONS the brass inlaid rosewood case inset with four bevelled glass panels to the top, sides and front, the back door having a gilt brass silk lined fish scale sound fret. The signed 3" gilt brass dial with Roman chapter ring and sunburst engine-turned decoration fronting a signed and dated eight-day chain driven double fusee movement with Harrison maintaining power and original engraved gilt lever escapement with jewelled end stops striking the hours on a gong (18.5cm high)
