Musical Acrobat Automaton by Lambert, c. 1910
With papier-mâché head, brown glass eyes, articulated shoulders and knees, going-barrel movement playing one air ("La dernière Gavotte") and causing the acrobat to perform a handstand on the ladder, bend his legs, lift his left hand from the ladder three times and then return to the original position, in spotted black silk costume decorated with metal moon appliqués, height 24 in. (61 cm) lowered, 29 in. Musik-Puppenautomat "Der Akrobat" von Lambert, um 1910
Kopf aus Papiermaché, braune Glasaugen, bewegliche Schultern und Knie. Sockel mit Federwerkmotor für die Bewegungen und Walzenspielwerk für eine Melodie ("La dernière Gavotte" - "Der letzte Tanz"). Der Akrobat führt einen Handstand auf der Leiter aus, winkelt seine Beine an, hebt dreimal seine linke Hand von der Leiter ab und kehrt dann in die Ausgangsposition zurück. Bekleidet mit gepunktetem Seidenkostüm mit Applikationen aus metallfarbenen Monden, Gesamthöhe 74 cm in der Handstandposition und 61 cm in der Ausgangsposition. Farbe erneuert.
