STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC TEAPOT, featuring the "LANDING OF GEN. LA FAYETTE / At Castle Garden New York 16th August 1824", printed below scene, depicting the arrival of the Marquis de Lafayette from France to New York Harbor to each side. Incised "2" and old hand-brushed accession number "M.85.261.20b" to underside, otherwise unmarked. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 7 1/2" HOA.
