STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC TEA ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, each featuring the "LANDING OF GEN LA FAYETTE / At Castle Garden New York / 16th August 1824", printed below scene, depicting the arrival of the Marquis de Lafayette from France to New York Harbor to each side, comprising a teapot with a non-matching sugar cover together by association, and a covered sugar. Unmarked. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 7 1/8" HOA.

Teapot with scattered flakes to interior gallery and glaze wear to spout; sugar bowl with some restoration including to area on raised rim end, one molded handle ring, and foot, and cover with moderate restoration; non-matching cover having moderate chip/loss to edge and chip to interior flange.
