Description
Chassis 100D.108*128375*
- Eye-catching cabriolet customisation
* Interesting Aqua Marina colour
* Sporty Jaeger-type instrumentation and spoked wheels
* Fun to drive
In 1956, Fiat invented the small MPV segment with the 600 Multipla, which established itself as the family car par excellence in post-war Italy. Thanks to its ingenious architecture, it offered record-breaking load capacity and fuel consumption for its class.
Although it had the same two-metre wheelbase and the same 22 hp engine as the 600 saloon, it was a car that maximised available space: it can be considered the very first large-production MPV in history. The Multipla was only offered in two-tone paint, a popular colour scheme among prestige cars in vogue during the boom years. Marketed from 1956 to '67, around 240,000 units were sold: to this day it remains an icon of the Italian economic boom.
This 1966 Fiat 600 Multipla on offer here belonged to a nunnery for several years. In the hands of an enthusiast for some time, it still retains its original page book. The current owner has recently had the following work done:
Restoration of the interior with its original ones
Engine oil and filter change
Replacement of front joints
Replacement of engine mounts
Cleaning the radiator
Replacement of tank and change of float switch
Installation of new tyres, polishing bodywork
New alternator and dynamo
Rectification of the cylinder head
Ready for new challenges, this little Multipla is undoubtedly an icon of practicality and style.
