Description
Oil on canvas 30 x 18 in, 36 x 24 in (framed). The following is from "Who Was Who in American Art" by Peter Falk:In 1940, Reyna Youngerman was chair of the art department of New Haven College. She located in Florida where she was chairman of the City of Miami Beach Music and Art Board and the Miami Beach Art Festival. She was a member of the Miami Water Color Society and the Palm Beach Art League as well as the National Association of Women Artists. She exhibited widely including in Ogunquit, Maine, Yale Gallery of Fine Art, the National Academy of Design, and the Copley Society in Boston.Youngerman was born in New Haven, Connecticut and earned her BFA degree at the Yale School of Fine Art. She also studied at the Art Students League in New York with Wayman Adams, Alexander Brook and Jerry Farnsworth.
