Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Java, Neolithic period, ca. 4500 to 500 BCE. A gathering of 4 stone blades, each pecked and polished to a broad cutting edge. Each function as handheld tools or be hafted to a wooden handle for greater leverage. Each has ancient chips and nicks from over the ages and use, but the original surfaces of several are highly polished and retouched in modern times. Size: 3.25" L x 1.8" W (8.3 cm x 4.6 cm)
Provenance: private Friday Harbor, Washington, USA collection, acquired prior to 2000
