This is one of the most beautiful hand stitched French Normandy lace bedspreads that I have found in a long time! It is from France, dating from the 1920's or earlier and is made with a patchwork of glorious antique laces.

Consisting of valenciennes, tambour, and white work, etc. with the finest rows upon rows of French valenciennes, French embroidered net laces and hand embroidered fine cotton batiste rounds and half moon shaped insertions adorning the center and platform edges. The gorgeous batiste hand embroidered rounds have satin stitch florals with tiny accent stitches in the petals giving a wonderful dimension to the design.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS

This Normandy bedspread has a platform that measures 50" across the width and the ruffle on two sides adds another 30" ( total width) with 15" ruffled side panels with embroidered very fine net lace. The length is 100" including it bottom ruffle.

CONDITION
In very good condition, Probably NEVER USED, I did find few small thread breaks and small holes. No other damage, no stains, very sturdy and strong and with no repairs or other issues in condition.

Our antique textiles are collectible and are not new and not reproductions, and have lived a long and eventful life and sometimes developing flaws. We do not launder or dry clean unless stated in listing, and most times have been in storage for many decades picking up old age storage oxidation spots.
