6 PC. EARLY SAMPLER COLLECTION: 1) Framed 19th-Century Folk Art Sampler, by Sarah Smethurst, age 12. Having a Verse, Tigers, Trees, & Flowers. Approx. 25" h x 22" w.; 2) 1770's Folk Art Sampler with alphabet, crowns, initials, and floral border. Initials and date in cartouche at top center. Silk on linen. Approx. 14" h x 14.25" w.; 3) Early Sampler with alphabet, numerals, and figures, having a variety of skilled stitching techniques. Silk on Linen. Some remaining glass bead trim bordering the bottom and lower left edge. Approx. 17.25" h x 16.25" w.; 4) Folk Art Sampler from 1794 by Eliza Ann Mason, age 13. Having Floral Urns and Animals with Verse. Approx. 17.5" h x 12.75" w.; 5) 1861 Figural Folk Art Sampler depicting the Crucifixion, Adam and Eve, and the Tree of Knowledge. Having a row of crowns beneath alphabet along the top, windmill, floral urns, and various creatures. Approx. 13" h x 13.25" w.; 6) Folk Art Sampler from 1818 by Sarah Ann Fox, age 12. Having eight lines of hymn centered within large border of flowering fruit vine with perched birds. Resides in plastic wrap. Approx. 18" h x 17.5" w.
