JAPANESE EXPORT REPOUSSÉ SILVER "CONTESTING DRAGONS" LIDDED TEAPOT, MARKED, MEIJI PERIOD, LATE 19TH/20TH CENTURY, the rounded rectangular hollowware handle with corner short dragons and ending on a melon form body, topped by a conforming lid of scrolling clouds centering a flaming pearl finial, over the body with two roaring dragons with long scaly swirling and applied sinuous barbels, amidst scrolling clouds and flanking a short bulbous shaped spout, stamped with a rectangular three character maker's mark, height: 8 1/8" width: 6 3/4" depth: 6"; total approximate weight: 14.5833 ozt.
