CRIA 2x Platinum Album award for John Cougar Mellencamp Uh-Huh album. Released in Fall of 1983 Mellencamp's globally successful album was certified 2x Platinum by the CRIA (Canadian Recording Industry Association) in February 1984, as dated on this award.

The album contained the hits "Crumblin' Down", "Pink Houses", and "Authority Song" all of which charted in both Canada and the U.S. The album itself rose to #9 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart as well. A 2x Platinum album in Canada represents 200,000 copies sold (in a country of 36 million people).

Detailed Item Description: This is a CRIA Platinum award that would have been manufactured in 1984 making it approx. 38 years old. The award is presented to Gail Williams. It is not known what role Williams played in the creation or promotion of the record, but given Mellencamp recorded the album in the U.S. it is likely that she was involved on the business side.

This award is in VG condition with original manufacturer's sticker. It has only some minor scratches on its' plexiglass.

Notes on the condition of all vintage awards: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.
