Description
Important vase ''cristall from below mountain blue gradient with moss green overlay'' Franz Hofstötter (design of form and decoration), Loetz Witwe, Klostermühle, for the World's Fair in Paris 1900 Colorless glass, spun with blue-green threads. Above irregularly applied vertical threads in light green, formed into long stemmed leaves. The stems marbled brown and the leaf veins engraved. The lower wall overlaid with short extended tongues in silver yellow. Reduced and iridescent. Bottom signed in engraving ''Loetz Austria''. H. 25 cm. Lit.: Ricke/Vlcek, Lötz Bohemian Glass Vol. I, p. 130, no. 100 as well as Mergl/Ploil/Ricke, Lötz Bohemian Glass 1880 to 1940, p. 103, no. 48 (form and decoration); Ricke/Vlcek, Lötz Bohemian Glass Vol. II, p. 95, no. 422 (form). Our vase was part of the exhibition ''LOETZ SERIE II'' in the museum in Kasperské Hory in 2009. Our vase was also exhibited in the Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, USA in 1992/93. Furthermore, our vase was featured in the large wall calendar of the Czech ''CE GROUP'' of energy companies ''Enerie Krasy'' as a monthly picture of October.
