Description
Important vase ''opal phenomenon Gre 358'' Franz Hofstötter (design of form and decoration), Loetz Witwe, Klostermühle, for the World's Fair in Paris 1900 Colorless glass with thin opal underlay. Broadly spun with colorless veined silver-yellow and irregularly warped. Below the mouth orange-red fusion with silver yellow, distorted into tongues. Above the base, melting into tongues in dark brown with silver yellow. Reduced and iridescent. Ornamental and openwork silver mounts at the muzzle and base, these hallmarked with ''STERLING''.
