Description
Small vase ''opal phenomenon Gre 358'' Arno Richter (form), Franz Hofstötter (decoration), Loetz Witwe, Klostermühle, for E. Bakalowits' Söhne, Vienna 1901 Colorless glass with thin opal underlay. Broadly spun with colorless veined silver yellow and irregularly warped. Below the mouth orange-red fusion with silver yellow, distorted into tongues. Above the base, melting into tongues in dark brown with silver yellow. Three set, flat wing handles on the wall. Reduced and iridescent. H. 8,5 cm. Lit.: Ricke/Vlcek, Lötz Bohemian Glass Vol. II, p. 295, No. 85/4012/II (form); Ricke/Vlcek, Lötz Bohemian Glass Vol. I, p. 123, No. 91 (decor). Our vase was exhibited in the Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, USA in 1992/93. Also in 2009 our vase was part of the exhibition ''LOETZ SERIE II'' in the Museum in Kasperské Hory.
