This MAGNIFICENT cotton 1860's / 1870's red and green coxcomb quilt is hand appliqued and hand quilted, with an unusual tulip and oak leaf vine border.
It measures 78" X 86" and is in very good condition, with a couple of small, faint spots and no wear, except for a few place where the red is beginning to thin (see pics).
The hand quilting is exceptional, with close grid, straight line, and leaf designs quilted throughout at an even 12 stitches to the inch.
The back is white, the hand stitched binding is green, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
