Description
Capuli Complex, Columbia to Ecuador regions, ca. 850-1500 AD. Two bowls, one is decorated in black on red resist paint technique. There are the expected surface encrustations and mineral deposits. The slip is great. Dimensions: 3-3/4" H - 5" dia. Provenance: Michael S. Tomlinson, 2006 acquired by Dr. Henry Cherrick, a professor and dean at UCLA School of dentistry who pioneered government programs promoting dental care in HIV/AIDs patients. He was an avid collector of fine art and antiquities and died at the age of 84 in 2023. Original documents included.
