Description
Ca. 1915 AD. One of the variations of the Lionhead sword – the "Jawless" or "Half-lion head" where the lion has no lower jaw. Brass hilt with some gilt remaining, the handle is wrapped with brown leather, D-guard hilt, decorated with floral designs and military paraphernalia, laureled crossed ulan lancets on the langet, plain slightly curved blade, metal scabbard with two suspension rings. Condition: Good wwith scabbard slightly pitted.Size: L: 39 1/2 in., (100 cm); 1410gProvenance: Property of a Central London Gallery, acquired on the US art market.
