EP-119, HB-154, S-109a, 10, HUNT & NASH, "Irving House," New York, Ribbed Frame Type, Very Fine or better.
Rated as Rarity-5 (21 to 30 Known) according to Fred Reed. The green 1861 Civil War George Washington US Postage Stamp issue is well centered seen under clear unbroken mica. The fine lines of the "Ribbing" to the face side of the case are particularly clear as this case has been polished to a brassy color long ago. Otherwise, there is one tiny dimple tick at 3:00 to the right rim edge of the face, whereas the reverse legends are sharp in detail and flashy. This Ribbed Frame variety and merchant are rarely encountered and is lacking in most collections. An opportunity for astute Encased Postage Stamp collectors.
