Original World War II manual for the B-17 bomber, titled: ‘BOEING – MODEL B-17 F FIELD SERVICE MANUAL’ and marked ‘restricted’ (Seattle: Boeing Aircraft Co.), 1943. 559pp. oblong 8vo., bound in brown oilcloth with gilt tile. Following the publication page is a page indicating this manual was issued as number 4400 on April 11, 1944 to Ross J. Radey. This well-illustrated manual contains step-by-step instructions on the service and maintenance of the bomber known as the ‘Flying Fortress’. Chapters include: ‘General Arrangement’, ‘Station Diagrams’, ‘Access Doors and Openings’, ‘Equipment Diagrams’, ‘Assembly Breakdowns’, ‘Additional Access Doors’, ‘Emergency Equipment’, and ‘Structure of B-17F’. Some light wear, overall, very good.
