Mexican War era M1840 officer's cavalry saber dated 1847. Saber manufactured by Ames Manufacturing, Cabotville, Mass. Sword is stamped " N. P. Ames Cabotville 1847 " on the ricasso and " U.S.R.C.." on the reverse side. Sword has not been cleaned just missing the wire wrap.
