Jack London PSA MINT 9 Signed Check
A bank check signed by Jack London, measuring 6.5" x 2.75", Oakland, California, dated January 1, 1907. Signed "Jack London" in black ink. The check, drawn on the Central Bank of Oakland, is a payment of $2.40 made out to Ellen Lewis. With a large purple bank stamp on the front and cancellation cuts at the center. Endorsed by Lewis on verso. PSA Slabbed and Graded MINT 9, measuring 9.5" x 4.5" overall. Flattened folds with some minor paper loss at the cancellation cuts. The bank stamp passes through the front of London's signature. Boldly signed.
John "Jack" Griffith London (1876-1916) was an American author and journalist. He is most famous for his novels The Call of the Wild and White Fang, and he became an innovator in the science fiction genre. London was also involved in social activism as part of the San Francisco literary group "The Crowd" and advocated for unionization and socialism.
