The Prince thanks his correspondent for their kind communication and asks him to convey to Sir Philip and Lady Currie 'l'expression des sincere plaisir que me procure leur tres amiable attention' (Translation: 'the expression of the sincere pleasure that their very amicable attention gives me'), continuing 'J'acceperai tres volontiers l'invitation a diner a l'Ambassade d'Angleterre pendant mon sejour a Constantinople pour peu que mon temps et le programme de Sa Majeste le Sultan me permittent d'etre l'hote de Son Excellence' (Translation: 'I will gladly accept the invitation to dine at the British Embassy during my stay in Constantinople if my time and His Majesty the Sultan's schedule allow me to be His Excellency's guest'). One small water stain slightly affects one word of text, and with some very slight traces of former mounting to the verso of the final page, otherwise VG Francis Elliot (1851-1940) British diplomat who served as British Ambassador to Greece 1903-17. Sir Philip Currie (1834-1906) British diplomat who served as British Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire 1893-98 and Ambassador to Italy 1898-1902. Lady Mary Montgomerie Currie (1843-1905) British poet and writer who used the literary pseudonym, Violet Fane. Wife of Sir Philip Currie from 1894 until her death.
