Framed fragment of a document signed by John Tyler as President. Reads Given under my hand at the City of Washington this Fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourty four and in the Sixty eighth year of the Independence of the United States. Signed in ink below typewritten inscription. Additional signatures in ink on left side of document, unknown. Dated June 4, 1844. Some creasing and buckling to paper observed. Not examined out of frame. Professionally framed in wood frame under mat and Tru-Vue Museum Glass. Measures approx. 8 1/8 x 14 3/8 inches, window measures approx. 6.5 x 12.75 inches. Original invoice from Kenneth W. Rendell Inc from February 26, 1971. Additional receipt for framing from Swains Art Store now Swains Auction Gallery dated March 20, 1971.
