Presidential Memorabilia - A. Jackson, A. Lincoln, J.W. Booth
Archive of memorabilia includes:
1.) Andrew Jackson (1767-1845), 7th President of the United States,"2nd. Ward Jackson Club" ribbon with celluloid badge picturing a headshot image of Jackson, 3.25" x 7". Red, white and blue ribbon hangs from a pin measuring 1.75" x .5". Manufacturer's tag from Keystone Badge Co. of Reading, PA, adhered to the verso of the blue tail. The small section of white ribbon at top has yellowed. Expected wear includes a few small tears and some discoloration to the badge, else in very good condition.
2.) Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), 16th President of the United States, Carte-de-visite with a sepia headshot image of Lincoln laid in, 2.5" x 4". Backstamp reads, "Mrs. E. H. Gillett, / Artist, / Le Roy, N.Y." Surface abrasions, soiling, toning, and light corner creasing, else in near fine condition.
3.) John Wilkes Booth (1838-1865), engraving on carte-de-visite sized cardstock measuring 2.375" x 3.875". Text below the head and shoulders image of Booth reads, "J. Wilkes Booth / L. Prang & Co., Boston / THE ASSASSIN". Publisher's backstamp on verso. The printer, Louis Prang, has been called the "father of the American Christmas card". Scarce vintage engraved card has creasing, soiling, and foxing, and is in otherwise very good condition.
