KAMMHUBER JOSEF: (1896-1986) German General with the Luftwaffe during World War II, the first General of night fighters in the Luftwaffe. Knight's Cross winner. Signed 4 x 5.5 photograph of Kammhuber standing outdoors in a half-length pose wearing his uniform and Knight's Cross. Signed in blue ink with his name alone to the right border, and also signed to the verso. Together with four T.Ls.S. and a brief A.L.S., J Kammhuber, each one page, 4to (3) and two on correspondence cards, Munich, August 1971 - May 1978, all to the aviation philatelist Hans Rossbach, in German. Kammhuber returns various commemorative covers and photographs which he has signed for his correspondent, in one letter expressing his hope that he correctly signed them, explaining 'I always sign by combining the first letter of my first name, Josef, with the first letter of my surname. If this is not desired, i.e. if the first name is written out in full, then I will do it differently for the next 100…..I have shown a sample of what it might look like with a pencil.
