Japanese Carved and Matched Wood Tobacco Case (Tonkutsu) and Pipe Case (Kiseruzutsu), Meiji Period, signed Myoesi, the oval tobacco case carved as an oak tree with acorns, the flat top carved with frogs arm wrestling, a third frog climbing up the side of the case, with an ojime carved as a walnut on the silken cord, the pipe case similarly carved. Signed to base of tobacco case. Provenance: Haig Galleries, Rochester, MI.
