Description

SAMUEL FRAYSER (D. 1842) ATTRIBUTED, HENRICO CO., VIRGINIA DECORATED PRESENTATION STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with rounded rim and slightly elongated neck, beaded neck ring, single incised shoulder ring, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt horizontal flower with "Mary, H, Bishop." incised above and reverse with bloom and foliate design repeated twice, additional cobalt to handle terminals and highlighting name. Attributed to Samuel Frayser, Henrico County, VA. 1817-1842. 9 1/2" H, 6" D rim.
