U.S. Model 1818 Cavalry Saber,
Nathan Starr, Middletown, Connecticut, 1821.
Iron hilt, the counter-guard with down turned quillon, reverse 'P' knuckle bow dated '1821' connecting to a dove's head pommel with back strap, black leather covered wood grip; curved single-edge blade with false edge at the clipped tip, single wide fuller, stamped on the ricasso 'US/P/JN/N.STAR[R].'

Hilt toned to deep brown, leather grip wrapping is complete but has some alligatoring; blade is toned to mottled gray, markings are strong.
