French Provincial Louis Philippe Carved Walnut Commode, 19th c., the ogee edge canted corner stepped top over a setback frieze drawer and three deep drawers above a bottom "secret" drawer, on stepped ogee block feet, H.- 39 in., W.- 48 in., D.- 20 3/8 in.
Condition
The top has a large shrinkage crack with some lifting/buckling. Both sides of the case also exhibit large shrinkage cracks with separation and light buckling. Small nicks and scratches are scattered throughout. The key does not work with the locks. Burled veneer on front is in good condition. Commode is attractive with a nice patina.
