Description
**First Time At Auction**
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A set of 2 wheel-thrown pottery pitchers, each with a piriform body and a thick strap handle. The wide mouths enabled their contents to be poured with ease, and the larger exhibits faint remains of white pigment on the exterior. Size of largest: 5.75" Diameter x 9.3" H (14.6 cm x 23.6 cm)
Provenance: private Bell Buckle, Tennessee, USA collection, by descent, acquired in Tunisia before 1969

Both have minor nicks and abrasions, with light earthen deposits, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to overall forms.
