Description
"Wrought by Dolly Wilder in her 12th year, 1809", silk on linen, English, having an octagonel inset frame featuring a floral wreath, landscape with Georgian Manor, oversized bird, alphabet, pink rose blossom at bottom. Poem reads "Cold death my heart invades, my life doth fly, O Christ my everlasting life draw nigh, Why quivereth thou my soul within my breast, Thy angels come to lead thee to thy rest, Quit cheerfully this drapping house of clay, God will restore in the appointed day". In modern gilt molded frame, under UV plexiglass, OS: 18 1/2" x 17", SS: 16 1/2" x 15".
