Description
The lot features a Southern Plains belt axe tomahawk fashioned to an antique sterling silver adorned walking cane from the late 19th to early 20th Century. The head shows a blacksmith forged iron flaring blade tomahawk head with heavy hammering marks and dark coloring having a round eye hole secured to the haft with a gasket of parfleche and iron nails. The haft handle is made from an antique walking cane / walking stick and shows Sterling silver marked top ring and silver bottom ring with stained and lacquered original finish staff showing some slight loss to the finish. The head is likely older than the handle. Measures overall 20.5"L with the head being 4 1/8" by 2.75"L across the blade.
