A Chinese blue-ground dragon bowl and a white-ground cup
early 19th century
Comprising one blue-ground bowl with iron red 'dragon chasing a flaming pearl' motif among auspicious clouds; and a white-ground cup featuring lotus petal designs to foot and underside and central figure holding a fly whisk. Bowl with six-character mark to underside. Sold with associated box. (2).

Provenance: Ms. Chou, Seattle, Washington. Collected from the 1960s to 1970s by her father, Dr. Edward Chou, who was a surgeon in Hong Kong. The collection was shipped to the United States in the late 1970s and was kept in the house thereafter.
