Description
Circa 1845, Edgefield, South Carolina, likely by the Broken Stem maker school of Thomas Chandler the jug having a small incised C near the base of the handle. Very fine well potted example having an ovoid body with nicely tooled rim and pulled and applied handle ending in finger impression. Very good, well kept condition throughout other than tight hairline at the handle, possibly a firing flaw. H9 1/2" Sold from the collection of a private Charleston, SC gentleman and lady.
