Description

A First World War era "Faithful Freddie" nautical submarine binnacle compass, circa early 20th Century for the Royal Navy (UK). Royal Navy pattern spirit filled compass featuring a Fleur de Lys and crown marking to paper dial, housed within a gimbal and is stamped, PATT 183 NO24523B B/R/63. Plaque affixed to the front PATTERN 189N NO. 2078H. No manufacturer’s marks.

Dimensions: 18 X 18 X 12 in.

Condition: Fair antique condition having mild to moderate surface wear, with cracks to both glass cover lenses. Untested, being sold for historical purposes only, may require service, parts and/or repair to properly function as designed. Estate fresh to the market.
