Nel 1966 la casa Alfa Romeo presentò il primo modello fra quelli che sarebbe diventato fra i più noti e longevi, nota come 'Duetto'. Venne prodotta in 4 serie diverse ma per ben 28 anni riuscì a conquistare il cuore di tutti gli appassionati. Per scegliere il nome fu indetto un concorso pubblico, con in palio un esemplare della nuova macchina. Vinse il nome Duetto, ma l'appellativo fu usato solo per i primi 190 esemplari, a causa dell'omonimia con una nota merendina dell'epoca che ottenne l'uso esclusivo del nome. Nonostante ciò, l'appellativo rimase talmente radicato nel linguaggio degli appassionati, che tutte le successive versioni di questo modello vennero comunque identificate impropriamente come Duetto.
La terza serie dell'Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider fu chiamata l'Aerodinamica e venne prodotta a partire dal 1983. La carrozzeria subì un sostanziale ritocco delle linee. I paraurti divennero più avvolgenti e la coda tronca , caratteristica ereditata dalla seconda serie. Vennero inoltre modificati i fari posteriori resi più grandi e vi fu applicato uno spoiler nero in materiale sintetico. L'interno presentava un volante in radica della Hellebore, il quadro strumenti con 'palpebre' separate ospitava il contagiri ed il contachilometri, nella parte centrale del cruscotto erano inseriti gli indicatori della benzina, della pressione dell'olio e della temperatura dell'acqua, nel tunnel centrale sotto al cambio a 5 marce trovava posto un orologio digitale dei vari comandi delle quattro frecce e dei fendinebbia posteriori oltre al posacenere.
L'esemplare da noi proposto in asta è motorizzato con un propulsore da 1600cc con 104cv cambio manuale a 5 marce e si presenta nel suo elegante colore Grigio Chiaro metallizzato (cod. Ar 727), i pregiati interni di pelle in tinta grigia, il volante in radica e i suoi iconici cerchi originali. Al posteriore, lo spoiler in materiale sintetico è stato sostituito da un più elegante e raffinato spoiler in tinta con la carrozzeria, che le dona maggior fascino senza rinunciare al suo aspetto funzionale. L'auto è stata immatricolata per la prima volta a Roma nel 1983 e da allora ha percorso solo 115.102 km in 37 anni di vita, non è mai stata oggetto di un restauro, ma solo di piccoli interventi di manutenzione ordinaria, e si presenta come un ottimo conservato.
è una prima serie della versione della ''coda tronca'' un magnifico 1300 Junior del 1973, conservante tutti e cinque i cerchi a bugne con le borchie cromate. Da poco riverniciata del suo colore originale Rosso Pininfarina, presenta alcune inesattezze come l'interno motore nero, il cruscotto nero e il vano baule anche nero. Il parabrezza presenta una scheggiatura che va riparata per poter circolare in tranquillità. Il motore è stato totalmente rigenerato pochi anni fa, la frizione è stata sostituita con una nuova, ed è stata poi scarsamente utilizzata. La meccanica appare fluida e scattante, la frizione è morbida e reattiva, le sospensioni senza alcun rumore. Gli interni sono in buono stato e sul muso presenta un raro optional dell'epoca, la coppia di coprifaro faro aerodinamici originali Carrello. Anche la capote è stata sostituita da poco ed è stata tenuta in garage sempre chiusa in modo da non prendere pieghe. Un'ottima base da guidare subito oppure per terminare il restauro a regola d'arte e avere una prima serie Alfa Romeo Spider 1300 Junior Coda Tronca da mostrare con orgoglio.

In 1966 Alfa Romeo presented the first model of what was to become one of the best-known and longest-lived, known as the 'Duetto'. It was produced in four different series but managed to win the hearts of enthusiasts for 28 years. A public competition was held to choose the name, with a model of the new car up for grabs. The name Duetto won the day, but the appellation was only used for the first 190 examples, due to homonymy with a well-known snack bar of the time, which obtained exclusive use of the name. In spite of this, the appellation remained so ingrained in the language of enthusiasts that all subsequent versions of this model were anyway improperly identified as Duetto.

The third series of the Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider was called the Aerodinamica and was produced from 1983. The bodywork underwent a substantial retouching of the lines. The bumpers became more enveloping and the 'truncated tail' a feature inherited from the second series. The rear headlights were also made larger and a black synthetic spoiler was applied. The interior featured a briarwood steering wheel by Hellebore, the instrument panel with separate 'eyelids' housed the rev counter and odometer, the central part of the dashboard contained the petrol, oil pressure and water temperature gauges, and in the central tunnel under the five-speed gearbox was a digital clock for the various controls of the four indicators and rear fog lights as well as the ashtray.

The car on offer at auction is powered by a 1600 cc engine with 104 bhp and a 5-speed manual gearbox and is presented in its elegant light grey metallic colour (cod. Ar 727), with a fine grey leather interior, a briarwood steering wheel and its iconic original wheels. At the rear, the synthetic spoiler has been replaced by a more elegant and refined body-coloured spoiler, giving it more charm without sacrificing its functional appearance. The car was first registered in Rome in 1983 and has since covered only 115,102 km in 37 years of life. It has never been restored, only minor routine maintenance work has been carried out, and it is in excellent condition.

It is a first series of the 'coda tronca' version, a magnificent 1300 Junior from 1973, preserving all five rims with chrome studs. Recently repainted in its original Rosso Pininfarina colour, it has some inaccuracies such as a black engine interior, black dashboard and trunk compartment also black. The windscreen has a chip that needs to be repaired in order to drive it safely. The engine was totally rebuilt a few years ago, the clutch was replaced with a new one, and it was then hardly used. The mechanics appear smooth and snappy, the clutch is soft and responsive, the suspension without any noise. The interior is in good condition and on the nose it has a rare optional extra of the time, the pair of original aerodynamic headlamp covers. The soft top was also recently replaced and has been kept in the garage always closed so as not to catch creases. An excellent base to drive straight away or to finish the restoration to perfection and have a first series Alfa Romeo Spider 1300 Junior Coda Tronca to display with pride.
