Howard Hughes Flag Flown on Around the World Flight. Encapsulated by CAG
American Flag, 12" x 8". Flown around the world on Howard Hughes' Lockheed 14 from July 10-14, 1938. Encapsulated by CAG, measuring 13'' x 10.5''.
On July 14, 1938, Hughes set a record by completing a flight around the world in just 91 hours (three days, 19 hours, 17 minutes), which beat the previous record of 186 hours (7 days, 18 hours, 49 minutes) set in 1933 by Wiley Post in a single-engine Lockheed Vega by almost four days.
