Description
American Militia Musket, early 19th century. 42 1/8 in., .75 caliber barrel with top mounted bayonet lug, the breech marked 'US' in a sunken oval cartouche; French St. Etienne lock with reinforced cock and 'US' surcharge on the tail; walnut stock fitted with French Model 1766-type furniture. Overall lg. 57 3/4 in. CONDITION: Metal toned to dark brown, lock functions properly, stock has wood repair at rear of lock mortice, and around breech plug tang.
