Description
Roman, late Republic to early Imperial Period, ca. 1st century BCE to 1st century CE. A fabulous glass bowl of early form that is shaped from translucent, pale yellow-green glass. Enveloping the entire vessel are layers of rainbow-hued iridescence that create more colors as the layers slowly flake off over time. Size: 5.39" L x 5.35" W x 2.69" H (13.7 cm x 13.6 cm x 6.8 cm)

Cf. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession number 91.1.1341
