[WORLD WAR II]. Two framed displays featuring medals and patches of identified soldiers.


Approx. 19 x 15 in. framed display featuring the medals, patches, and pin of U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Jasper Adolphus "J.A." Baker (1924-2002) of Springfield, Missouri. Displayed medals include the Bronze Star at top center below which appears a photograph and accompanying text reading in part: "[JA Baker] received the Bronze Star and congratulations for Meritorious Achievement during the recent Luzon Campaign. Presenting the Bronze Star to Sgt. Baker is Brigadier General Everett E. Brown, Assistant Commander of the 25th Division Tropical Lightning Division in the Philippines." Amongst the other displayed medals and patches is a Purple Heart. Frame with paper backing, all items unexamined outside frame. Staff Sergeant Baker served from 30 June 1943 through 9 January 1946. He is buried in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.

Approx. 19 1/2 x 12 1/2 in. framed display featuring the medals, patches, pins, and "dog tags" of U.S. Air Corps Staff Sergeant Earl Ellsworth "Jack" Fix (1919-1984), a tailgunner on a B-17 "Flying Fortress." Framed with newspaper accounts indicating that Fix was reported missing in action 25 June [1944] while flying his 25th mission over enemy territory and was later reported as a German prisoner of war. World War II American and Allied Prisoners of War, 1941-1946 indicates Fix was held by Germany in Stalag 7A Moosburg Bavaria 48-12 (Work Camps 3324-46 Krumbachstrasse 48011, Work Camp 3368 Munich 48-11) before liberation or repatriation.
