Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, Nazca, ca. 200 to 500 CE. A hand-built pottery vessel presenting a globular body skillfully hand-painted with a mythical being on both sides and a bridge handle spanning between a pair of conical spouts. This unusual creature is often "Anthropomorphic Mythical Being," a supernatural entity that can be interpreted as underworld deities or demons. hybrid of animals and anthropomorphic characteristics. Size: 5.5" Diameter x 7" H (14 cm x 17.8 cm)

Loss to spout and reattached to body with visible break line. Bridge handle is repaired with visible break line across the center. Nice preservation to rest of vessel and pigments, minor surface nicks and chips.
