With map, engraved title, and 17 inserted engravings of cemetery views, with tissue-guards. Original full brown morocco, boards triple-ruled in gilt, with gilt central vignette “Entrance to Greenwood” stamp on boards, spine decoratively stamped and lettered in gilt, all edges gilt, decorative endleaves (board-edges and joints worn, some rubbing, light soiling to boards, rear hinge just barely starting, ink spots to front endleaves, half-title and letterpress title-page toned, some occasional soiling, foxing to text and plates, a few gutters over-opened). Provenance: gift inscription on front blank: “Presented to Mrs. Eliza Ann Rivington [?] About the year 1849-“. FIRST EDITION of this lovely book of illustrations of Brooklyn’s legendary Green-Wood cemetery.
