Nixon & Brezhnev Meeting with Skylab II Astronauts, PSA Type I
An official White House photograph taken during the 1973 Washington Summit depicting President Richard Nixon and Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev examining commemorative plaques presented to them by Skylab II astronauts Weitz, Conrad, and Kerwin, ca. June 1973. The meeting, which took place shortly after the crew's return to Earth, marked an interesting milestone in the Cold War-era Space Race. The summit as a whole would see the two superpowers discussing topics such as of oceanography, transportation, agricultural research, cultural exchange, and most significantly, nuclear disarmament. PSA encapsulated to the overall size of 9.75" x 13.25", receiving a designation of Type I. Near fine.
