Ancient Southeast Asia, Thailand, Ban Chiang culture, ca. late 1st millennium BCE. A set of 4 hand-built pottery vessels, each of a different form. First is a pedestal cup with a flared rim; second is a squat jar that bears incised striations along its lower body; third blackware vessel is decorated with dense linear motifs; and the largest with a pair of serrated lateral bands along the outside surfaces. Size of largest: 6.8" Diameter x 7.4" H (17.3 cm x 18.8 cm)
Provenance: private Arlington, Texas, USA collection, acquired mid to late-1960s

Condition
Repair to rims of 2 largest vessels, with stable hairline fissures to spherical vessel, and chips and fissures to smallest vessel. All with expected abrasions and earthen deposits, with softening to some incised decorations. Nice preservation to overall forms.
