Japanese Meiji period Satsuma ceramic vase. Signed Kusube. Square form, each side with a cartouche: two sides with figures in gardens, one side with a rooster, and one side with blooming flowers. Cobalt blue background with gilt floral and geometric motifs. The underside with a four-character mark.
Height: 14 in x width: 6 in x depth: 6 1/4 in.

Condition
No chips, cracks, or restorations. Crazing to the glaze throughout. Losses to the painted gilt decoration throughout. Light wear along the footrim. Some dirt/dust collected in the recessed areas of the work.
