Description
**First Time At Auction**
Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A forged-steel kris blade of slight serpentine profile bearing a pair of slender fullers down the spine. Above the hand guard is an 80% gold spacer disc with granular motifs, and surmounting all is a wooden handle with a pair of abstract anthropomorphic maskettes. The copper-silver sheath jacket is engraved with dense foliage motifs on the obverse, and behind is an engraved emblem that perhaps attributes it to a specific armory. Size (w/ sheath): 7.25" W x 19.375" H (18.4 cm x 49.2 cm); (blade): 14.75" L x 3.25" W (37.5 cm x 8.3 cm); gold quality: 80% (equivalent to 18K+)

Condition
Guard protector is removable from top of blade housing and sheath jacket and has been previously reattached with old adhesive residue visible. Minor nicks to wooden guard protector and minor abrasions to sheath jacket, otherwise in great condition. Nice patina to sheath jacket and spacer disc, and good preservation to marking behind sheath jacket.
