Description
Manufactured in 1927. Features 27.5" Krupp steel nitro proofed 16 Gauge over 7.8 x 57 (.318) barrels, equipped with extractors, solid raised knurled rib that has standard blade front sight and single leaf rear sight. Rifle barrel has factory mounted front sling swivel. Receiver in a scalloped box lock with Greener style crossbolt, featuring cocking indicators and double triggers, the front being a set trigger. Straight grain walnut forend with 18 LPI checkering. Straight grain walnut pistol grip buttstock with horn grip cap, right hand cheek piece, sling swivel and added Pachmayr pad. Overall, an excellent example of an German combination gun. CALIBER: 16 Gauge & 8x57 JR . S/N: 1857. FFL STATUS: Curio & Relic.
Condition
Barrels retain approximately 70% original blue with remainder turning a plum patina. Bores are very good. Receiver retains 60% original case colors with finish wear in the carry areas. Forearm and buttstock show normal usage marks and retain 80% finish with oil added. Left side of forearm at front edge has a faint longitudinal fracture that extends 1.75" toward the receiver which should not effect function. Good bores and mechanics.
