TWO AMERICAN CIVIL WAR ERA PAINTED DRUMS, ONE OF BIRD'S EYE MAPLE AND WITH "E PLURIBUS UNUM" PHRASE, 1860s, comprising an example made of bird's eye maple and fitted with skin tops bound by rope, at the center a hand-painted eagle rampant holding "E Pluribus Unum" banner on a blue ground, height: 16", diameter: 16 3/4"; the other example with scalloped top is painted a brown color and retains natural strings at base, height: 17" diameter: 17 1/2".
Condition
