James Buchanan "Indian Peace Medal" showing a Native American warrior and federal soldier before a large American flag in a display of peace. The obverse features a profile view of President James Buchanan. The obverse die was engraved by Salathiel Ellis, and the reverse die is by Joseph Willson. This design was also used on Pierce and Fillmore medals.
